A photographic competition with a twist:
8 hours to take 8 photos on 8 secret topics!
Photomarathons are popular across Europe, with regular events in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, France ,Russia and erm, Cardiff. And now we’re bringing this event to Llandudno for the very first time.
Who can enter?
A Photomarathon is for everyone – professionals, instagrammers and grandmothers (or you might be all three). The point is to challenge yourself under the time restrictions and see where your ideas take you.
For those younger photographers (under 12s) we have a shorter, four hour marathon – more of a sprint really – that will work much the same way, but with different topics and more sweet stops.
Ages 3-16: children must be accompanied by parents
How does it work?
You will need: a camera (with a memory card) or smartphone
Meet at the Hub at 10am to pick up your entry card and receive the first 4 secret topics. You then have four hours to shoot your first four images in the order they are given to you. Four hours later at 2pm the next set of secret topics are released. They will offer plenty of room for interpretation and creativity.

Each entrant must personally collect the set of topics from the Hub, and have their entry card stamped to prove attendance. The Hub will then receive the completed entries – via direct download from your memory card or from your smartphone – from 4pm until 6pm.
Great prizes to be won!
At the end of the Photomarathon day, all the images are collated, before our panel of judges meet to decide the winners. All the photos – yes, ALL OF THEM – then go on show in a free public exhibition which will open at LLAWN05 on September 15th 2017. It will be quite a collection!
